French Language (Novice & Intermediate)

Audience: Students at the novice or intermediate level of French whose primary goal is rapid language acquisition.

Pedagogical Model

  • Intensive immersion inspired by the Middlebury Language Schools
  • Daily language instruction integrated with homestays, cultural activities, and field excursions
  • Exclusive focus on language learning (no content courses)

Program Structure

Phase I (Weeks 1–8): Fully Accelerated Intensive

  • Approximately 4 hours of French instruction per day
  • Modeled on Middlebury’s accelerated immersion approach

Phase II (Weeks 9–15): Semi-Accelerated + Internship

  • Approximately 2 hours of French instruction per day
  • Supervised internship or practicum conducted entirely in French

This structure emphasizes rapid advancement, professional and applied French, and real-world communicative competence.
