Program Overview

The Summer in Wolof Language & Culture offers students an immersive, rigorous Wolof curriculum through intensive language instruction combined with cultural, social, and field-based learning. Students engage daily with the language in and beyond the classroom, developing linguistic proficiency while gaining deep insight into Wolof-speaking societies.

Curriculum

  • Intensive Wolof language instruction at the Beginning, Intermediate, or Advanced level
  • Content courses taught in English and/or Wolof, depending on language proficiency
  • Weekly field-based language immersion modules
  • Structured conversation practice with local speakers

Wolof Language Sequence

  • Beginning Wolof: Wolof 1 & Wolof 2
  • Intermediate Wolof: Wolof 3 & Wolof 4
  • Advanced Wolof: Wolof 5 & Wolof 6
